Screw Compressors from Air Supply UK
Screw compressors are one of the most widely used air compressors due to their reliability and versatility. They are used in a wide range of industrial processes and applications to allow businesses to operate efficiently.
Rotary screw air compressors use positive displacement and rotary movements inside are used to compress the air. A set of male and female rotors rotating in opposite directions make the compressor work. As the air flows along the rotors, the air is compressed as the space between the rotors decreases.
In contrast to reciprocating or piston compressors, these compressors have fewer moving parts which means they operate at lower temperatures with a good cooling system, making them more energy efficient. In addition, screw compressors do not have valves which means they can work at high speeds combined with large flow rates and can still be contained within a small exterior.
These compressors are used in a wide variety of industries, including:
- Food packaging
Key benefits of a screw air compressor include:
- Continuous operation
- Easy to maintain
- Energy efficient
- Low noise
- Simple compression process
At Air Supply, our screw compressors are available in a very broad power range, from a small footprint to fit in every workshop to much larger applications. We have recently launched a whole new range of oil injected screw compressors from 30 to 110kW.

Having been one of Worthington compressors premier distributors for over a quarter of a century, we at Air Supply Ltd have been instrumental in aiding Worthington Compressors to be one of the UK’s market leaders in industrial air compressors and equipment.
Worthington-Simpson was a British pump manufacturer founded by Thomas Simpson around 1785, It continued as an independent pump manufacturer until 1969. Creyssensac was created in 1934 by Elie Creyssensac, who built its reputation for piston compressors in the automotive industry.
From 1966, screw compressors have been added to the range and became an important player in the industry. In 1973, the fusion of Worthington and Creyssensac formed a formidable player in the manufacturer of industrial screw compressors.
Purchased in 1980 by Atlas Copco, Worthington is now part of the Mutiair group of Atlas Copco companies, ensuring the standard of products match that of the world renown owners.
As an authorised distributor for MARK air compressors we have since 1995 being providing UK wide customers with the reliable, versatile and high quality products.
MARK Compressors are renown for their plug and play packages, buy a screw compressor mounted on its own air receiver, with on board refrigerant air dryer, line filtration and auto draining system, or strip any component off to end up purchasing a simple base compressor.
The MARK Range is vast and extensive, not only competitively priced, but fills every gap in the compressed equipment range.
