Radio and Scanner NEWS.
With the falling exchange rate of the pound against the US Dollar, we have been informed there are some major changes coming in the prices of scanners, and accessories.
There are now several new radios launched on the UK market in time for 2009. There is a new type of receiver and two new scanners from major manufacturers.
The Airband Black Box Receiver is a new concept of radio. It has no manual tuner, and automatically picks up airband signals in the vocal air band range between 118 Mhz and 137 Mhz from a reasonably close proximity, and transmits them via a combined aerial and earpiece supplied. All you need to do when you arrive at your local airport is switch on ! ITS AS EASY AS THAT! Check our shop now!

We have now added a section at the bottom of our 'scanners' section in the Web-shop to include any part-exchange radios currently in stock.

This set now complies with the EEC sdafety legislation and is easy to operate and includes both Civil and Military airband frequency ranges. It also has the ability to offer 'Alpha-texting' for naming frequencies within the banks.

A new book just released especially useful for those considering a career in Air Traffic Control, this book bring the subject of up to date and includes new systems introduced over the past decade. At last a comprehensive book, written by an experienced controller.
As the "Flight Routings" book is no longer available, we now stock Seldec's publication
"UK & Ireland Flight Routes 2009". This book has a similar layout with Flights laid out in the order of Callsign alphabetically, and details in columns of Flight number, departure and destination information, including times, frequency and aircraft type, very similar to the information base of the original, and will be available from our web-shop. Book has been re-designed for 2009 into an easier to read format.

Another Handley Page Halifax to be raised from the 'Deep'!
In 2006 the project to raise a WW2 Halifax bomber of 6(RCAF) Group from the Atlantic Ocean off the Scottish Coast, got under way. Equipment used to raise the Halifax NA337, now in the RCAF Memorial Museum, has already been pledged to the project. Funds are needed to carry out the initial survey and as part of this fundraising, the HP57 (Canada) Group have organised the painting shown, which has been signed by the surviving members of the crew of LW170.
Ken is continuing to support the project, and is selling copies of the print in Europe.
Prints now available £95.00 (signed by original crew) and £35.00 unsigned, inc postage.
