Analogue Airband Radios
Two Budget airband receivers offering fabulous value for beginners. Each Radio has manual tuning, including FM Radio, Airband, and Marine Band. Neither radio has memory capability, but is very easy to use.
The left hand radio illustrated, the 'Aircontrol M8', is supplied with metal telescopic aerial, squelch and volume controls, and tuned by control on right hand side. Capable of also picking up Medium wave band, FM Radio and Marine band.
On the right hand side a similar radio, the 'Multiband' but with aerial retracting into plastic casing, so it can be used whilst retracted, whilst out and about. Also picks up Citzen band, FM radio and Marine bands, and fitted with squelch control. THIS RADIO IS TEMPORARILY WITHDRAWN.

Black Box Airband Receiver
LISTEN TO ALL THE AIRCRAFT MOVEMENTS AT YOUR LOCAL AIRPORT. This product is a new development in the field of Airband radio. This radio has no tuner - it automatically picks up signals between 118 and 137 Mhz, without the need to use scanning banks or Channels. SIMPLE TO OPERATE - Simply plug in the earpiece supplied, which acts as the aerial, switch on the the set and it automatically picks up your local airband frequencies. It is supplied complete with 12V DC car adapter, and requires a 9volt PP3 or similar Battery.
This set is designed to operate with close proximity of an airport, and is not suitable to connect to any remote aerial.

Bearcat UBC 30 XLT
Newly released over the winter is the Bearcat UBC 30 XLT scanner. This set has 200 memories, in ten banks of 20 channels and full civil airband and VHF Broadcast Radio capability, together with selectable 8.33 Khz set spacing. Supplied in a basic package without extras supplied on many of the more sophisticated sets. Although very compact, the UBC 30 is NOT able to connect to mains power or charger - battery operation only.

Icom IC-R5 Scanner
The Icom IC-R5 offers incredible value for money. Building on the experience of the popular IC-R2, which was around a couple of years ago, this set, which is the same size as the IC-R2 has a larger memory with 1250 Channel capacity, and a 'memory enter' facility which is a lot easier to use. Uniden UBC3500 Wide Band Scanner
The latest from the well established Uniden range the UBC3500 has full wide band capability from 25mHz to 1300mHz. This means it will listen to Military Air Band as well as Civil. The set is supplied complete with rechargeable AA batteries and charger/mains adapter. Designed so that it can be used in-car, the set includes a 'CB type' clip as well as standard belt clip. Aerial supplied is an SMA fitting, but an SMA/BNC adapter is included, so standard optional aerials can be used. An excellent 'filing' system for channel memories allows great flexibility, and Alpha Texting is possible, as well as "Close Call" for that extra frequency capture.

Icom IC-R20 Scanner
This set is wonderfully engineered, and is one of the best quality all-round scanning receivers on the market. The IC-R20 has a memory capacity of 1250 channels, in 26 memory banks, and features 'dual watch' service allowing the user to listen to two frequencies at one. 'Auto-store' is a facility that allows the set to automatically store upto 200 frequecies as they come 'on line'. The R20 also has alphanumeric texting option upto 8 characters to each frequency.

AirNav Radar Box Virtual Radar System
Now you can see aircraft on a synthesised radar screen on your own PC. This system has a different visual appearance than its competitor, with the advantage that if the particular aircraft transponder being tracked includes the registration, and ICAO designations of the flight, these are included in the data shown on your screen. There is also a greater variation in 'options' for the user, and the exciting ability to 'network' with other users around the world and see the action at many other airports.

Kinetic SBS-1er NEW Virtual Radar with Radio
This system operates in conjunction with a PC, by picking up the ModeS transponder signals from equipped aircraft. The radio receiver passes the signal to the PC which can interpret them on to the screen as sythesised radar plots on the map. The screen programme has three screen options, the main one being the area chart, and second giving a table of the signals, including Hex Code, Callsign, Nationality and position details of the targeted aircraft, and a third screen with relevant heights displayed. This NEW 'pocket' sized version, available NOW includes "Ethernet" Module enabling networking, and including VHF airband Radio built internally (No aerial for this included)

Every so often we do get radios part-exchaged for a new set, or sold to us my customers who have lost interest in the hobby. We are always pleased to discuss part exchange, but estimate will ONLY be given on site of the radio in question, and we suggest you ring us first to discuss your requirements.
All pre-used sets are sold on a 'first come - first served' basis.
